How to rotate PDF pages
Fix the orientation of a PDF when pages were scanned sideways or the source document had mixed orientations.
Short answer: use the Rotate PDF tool to rotate every page, or the editor's page panel to rotate individual pages.
Rotate every page
- Open Rotate PDF.
- Drop your file.
- Choose 90° clockwise, 180°, or 270° (counter-clockwise).
- Click Rotate PDF and download.
Rotate individual pages
- Open the file in the editor.
- Click Pages in the sidebar to open the thumbnail panel.
- Click the rotate button under any thumbnail.
- Repeat for each page that needs fixing.
- Download when done.
Common scenarios
- Scanned sideways. Rotate 90° in the correct direction, usually clockwise for pages scanned top-up.
- Upside down. Rotate 180°.
- Mixed orientations in one document. Use the editor to rotate only the affected pages.
- Landscape slide in a portrait document. Rotate the slide page 90° so it reads correctly on portrait readers.
What rotation does not change
Rotation is metadata — the underlying page content stays in its original orientation, only the display is rotated. Text stays selectable and searchable. Nothing is re-rendered or degraded.
